Coaching and Neuroscience


The coaching relationship, consisting of exploring courageous choices in a non-judgmental and trusting environment, causes the brain to secrete empowering hormones. Thus the customer is able to think and be creative with all brain resources in a positive state, without the primitive brain being activated.

Due to a trait called neuroplasticity, the brain is not a static organ, it is dynamic and constantly changing, growing and rewiring itself. A group of neurons, that are wired together is called a neural network. Coaching helps customers develop new positive neural networks.

Focus of attention on new ideas and experiences, forms new neuron connections and repetition strengthens the pathways. Thus the customer gains new behaviours and habits.

Insights and “AHA” moments resulting from coaching, link  the different information, thoughts, memories and skills in the brain.
